With over 150 years of combined experience, Innovative Combustion Technologies, Inc. (ICT) is one of the most respected names in the power industry for providing results oriented testing and combustion troubleshooting.In addition, we offer a full complement of source emission services to meet our client's individual testing needs.Our current staff of 30 employees includes: engineers, technicians, draftsmen, technical illustrators, design specialists as well as administrative professionals. Our offices are located south of Birmingham, Alabama just off I-65. Our sister company, ThunderFab, Inc., a precision machine, welding and fabrication shop, is located in Saginaw, Alabama.

What We Do
ICT specializes in services to improve boiler performance and combustion. We provide boiler testing, consulting, inspection and training services to operators of fossil fuel fired power plants world wide ranging in size from 40MW to 1300MW. ICT specializes in addressing “combustion side” parameters to identify and address opportunities for improved unit heat rate, performance, availability, capacity and operability.ICT also offers a full spectrum of stack testing services for all types of utility boilers and industrial installations.

Job Description
Field Service Engineers, Field Technicians and Interns all work together to perform a variety of boiler tests on large utility coal fired boilers. Boiler testing includes using specialized instruments to measure airflow, coal flow, flue gas species and other parameters. Our engineers, service technicians and interns will spend approximately 50% of their time working at power plants located around the United States. The remainder of the time will be spent in the office and lab analyzing data and materials collected off-site, entering and checking data, equipment maintenance, preparing for field-testing and writing reports.

Qualifications

Field Service Engineer
Candidate should possess a Bachelors degree in engineering plus real world “hands-on” mechanical experience garnered through co-op, hobby or similar. Candidate should have strong technical, mechanical, math and computer skills. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel are a must. Candidate should be in excellent physical condition. Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus.

Engineers that graduated near the top of their class and/or have applicable out of class work experience will be given priority. Recent college graduates are welcome to submit their resumes.

Field Service Technician

Candidate should possess strong technical, mechanical and computer skills along with strong math skills, as well as being proficient in MS Word and Excel. Candidate should be in excellent physical condition. Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus.

Ideal candidate should possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a technical field. Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus. Hobbies that show technical inclination are also a plus.

Engineering Aide – Intern
Internships are available for students who are currently pursuing an engineering degree, and have strong technical, mechanical and computer skills. Candidates should have strong math skills, as well as being proficient in MS Word and Excel. Candidate should be in excellent physical condition. Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus.
